I don't understand what about that article or subject is "promising"?

Brake dust, although annoying, is a byproduct of pad material, surface area, rotor design, caliper pressure, and of course driving habits.

I buy the EBC ceramic pads on eBay for a song and brake dust build-up is never problem for me.

I think it is sad that the vast majority are so ignorant of the inner workings of their cars and that some actually think brake dust indicates a real problem. Even if you have a sticking caliper you will have more symptoms than just excessive dust.

People should stick to rating real quality factors, like stopping distance, brake fade, pedal travel, etc.

The purpose of linking to that article escapes me. What's the point here?

Majority of people driving cars i.e. "consumers" don't have a clue? That's not news.
