Default Broken coolant resevoir cap replacement

I needed to add antifreeze and when trying to take the cap off it came apart, leaving most of it in the resevoir. Can anyone advise me on how to get the rest of it out without destroying the resevoir?

Thanks,...

Get a large Flat Bladed Screwdriver and with the blade held vertically you can position it between the top of the filler hole of the Expansion Tank and underneath the lip on what is left of the Cap and lever it out. Once you have got the part out you can simply clip it back together with the top of the cap.

After going through this procedure for a month due to a small leak I actually brought a new cap but within two weeks the new cap was doing exactly the same thing.
