A/C cycling
I have a question about the air conditioner on my 2002 X Type 3.0. The other day with temps in the low 100’s the a/c would blow cold, then for a short time blow warm/hot air, then go back to cold. On the freeway it happened 4-5 time. It was like the AC was cycling to prevent the evaporator from frosting over.
However, when the outside temp fell below 100 degrees this cycling didn’t happen.
As far as I know, without putting a gauge on the low side, the ac is full. Is this normal on very hot days?

No, lots of days here in Utah over 100° (we're a desert ya know) and mine cools very well stopped, driving, uphill, downhill, flat surface.
Idk if this works on x type, it's from another Jag forum.
With the ignition turned off, press and hold both the recirc and auto buttons, and turn the ignition on. Release the buttons, and press auto to read off any error codes. JTIS has all of the codes, (23 is low A/C refrigerant pressure, i.e. a leak) and tells you how to test the operation of the various flaps in the heating system.
