Default california smog

07 Xtype will not pass smog. No check engine light or pending codes but monitor shows incomplete cycle it seems to be the O2 sensor monitor. How do we clear it? Thanks

I've moved your post out of the Forum Feedback section, if you have technical questions about your car it needs to go in the model-specific section.

You can't "clear" this, the ECU has to go through the required drive cycles.

Jagmom: Our X-Type engines have four O2 sensors. When one goes bad, the check engine light usually turns on and an error code tells you which sensor to replace.

Your question confuses me. Maybe I'm just slow (not the first time, and won't be the last!), but if the check engine light is off and there are no error codes, not even pending codes, other than an incomplete cycle (presumably P1000, yes?), why suspect a bad O2 sensor as the reason for the smog test fail?

Pictures of all four O2 sensors and their electrical connectors are in this post and the following one: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...4/#post1084230

Just drive it normally for a couple 2 or 3 weeks. Every time you erase, or try to find codes, you must drive around for awhile again, until all the cycles have been met. While you are driving around, start with a full tank of gas, and run it down to about a quarter full, so your evap system can be tested. I had the same problem with mine, because someone looked at my codes only to find nothing. The only way to complete all the cycles is to drive it. I had the same problem with my car, because I wanted to see what this incomplete cycles thing was, which caused me to start from square one.....Good luck, and don't touch that code reader, until you have your emission test in hand.....Be cool.....Mike
