Can I take the amp from a 2002 or a 2003 xtype and put it in my 2004 xtype. I'm asking because there are 3 xtypes at my local pull a part. There only 20$ for the amp. So I want to see if this is something I can do before I go all the way over to pull the amp and buy it

 

My first question is your old one gone bad? Or are you looking to add an amp?
The 2002, 2003 and the 2004 up until April 2004 have the same wiring harness. After April 2004 the wiring harness was significantly changed. You would need to look at the wiring diagrams for the 2002 and if you are built after April 2004 compare that wiring diagram.

With that out of the way anything is possible given sufficient time and money.

 

Only my 4 tweeters are working. Checked the fuses for the amp and wires on the back of the stereo. Looked for loose wires. Can't find anything wrong so I'm thinking the amp itself is bad. Only because it's highly unlikely for 6 speakers to blow at 1 time. So I figured I got pull an amp off one of them and try it out.

 

Mine says it was manufactured in February of 2004 on the sticker inside the door but I'll still take a look at the diagram

 

yes they are plug compatible, the mounting brackets may change.

 

With the feb 04 build date anything from 2002 or 2003 will work.
