Default Car shudders at 65 mph

My x type 2.5 auto and has a shudder at over 65 mph, I took it to the local jag specialist who gave the drive train the all clear and suggest replacing the tyres.
I have had fitted 4 Pirelli p6 tyres as recommended by jaguar but the problem remains. She drives perfectly smooth at lower speeds but once you get to 65 starts to shudder which is driving me mad! Any ideas?

Mike, there are 2 things that normally cause this condition to exist. The more easy one to correct is getting an alignment done to the car. Even if the alignment is out by just a little bit, it will cause the tires to fight each other and cause the wobble in the steering wheel. The other likely thing is you have a bent rim. This can be eliminated by simply rotating the tires front to rear (and rear to front) and seeing if your condition changes. If it does, then you can rotate one side of the car to see if the problem again changes. From there, you can determine which tire it is.

If you have replaced the tires and the problem continues, then we can eliminate the rubber tires from the equation.

All of these things I have mentioned makes you feel it in the steering wheel (it will wobble back and forth say a 1/4" or so at speed). If you are feeling just a general vibration in the car, then I would tell you to get under the car with a grease gun and needle attachment and give your carrier bearing (located on the rear driveshaft, in line with the rear of the front seats) a good greasing to see if this makes the problem better. If yes, then you are likely due for a new carrier bearing/rear drive shaft replacement. I do not suspect the carrier bearing as this normally occurs down around 45 mph and then goes away as you get up near 65 mph.

Hi Mike this sounds like it could be the drive front drive shafts. Does it disappear if you increase the speed. For example, can you drive through it.
If yes then you may have a wheel balance missing or even a buckled wheel.
