I have a chance to get a changer for my wifes X-Type.. This Jag was not ordered with a changer, Is there a harness in the trunk already so I can just hook one up?

i think the car needs to be pre-wired. if you call the dealer and give them the VIN they can tell you if yours is set up for the changer.

Tried calling the dealer local to me, never called me back. I'll take a look in the trunk tonight and see if I can see any cable.

If you are referring to the mounting bracket in the trunk, nope, not there.

cable/wiring should be there in the trunk.
I think that you need to get the CDC "activated" by the dealer, it wont just work by plugging it in.

Does your trunk have the trim parts to fit the changer?

You may need a D2B (fibre optic cable) as these must be connected in a loop.
