My Verizon Blackberry car charger won't work in the lighter in my 2004 XType. They replaced the entire lighter element, etc. and the lighter works, but the charger won't. It works in other cars so I know the charger is OK. Someone said I need an "adapter" or "sleeve" of some kind to get it it work..........Anyone heard of such a thing? Where can I get this? Any other suggestions???

Hey angie, sounds like a problem with contacts of your lighter. You said the lighter works, as a lighter. How about other car chargers, do they work on your lighter? If not, then buy one of those splitters! I doubt that would work, but you never know!
I did have a radar detector that came with a sleeve that fit around the plug and I did need it for my Porsche. I had exactly the same scenario, lighter worked, but radar detector didn't. Sounds like the sleeve is what you need. Best I could figure was that the sleeve gave additional size to the plug, and that in itself kept the center contact where is was supposed to be. Does your plug "wobble" a bit when in the lighter? If so, the sleeve will work. Might be time for some electrical tape as a quick fix. I would go to the cell phone manufacturer site or call the vendor where you got it.
When you center your smartphone onto a wireless charging pad, the only thing you’ll notice is the change of your battery icon from its standard mode to a battery with a bolt in the middle, signalling your phone is actively being charged. Best android chargers online. Wireless charging is also referred to as Qi charging or Qi technology. The Qi standard was introduced in 2008, so the technology is relatively new. Qi uses both resonant and inductive charging, of which the latter requires devices to be close to each other in order to work.
