That is very cheap indeed. I'm guessing your motivation is the extra 30 or so hp and not because your motor is not working?

Let me ask you this - have you ever done an engine swap? Do you have the space and tools you need - jacks/stands, hoist, hand tools, friends, mechanical ability, and patience out the wazoo? Is all the aggrevation really worth 30hp?

Search this board, JFenley has a post about doing this. If you go for it, I wish you nothing but the best of luck.

Its an enigne swap, but the compaonets should be all the same except for maybe reinforcing and bit bigger, but not by much, this guy in town he put i think a ls into his, which is a corvette engine and it looks like it cost a ton, but he did it by himself.
Go to a trusted, reputable work shop, hopefully you can get a deal on it

You can certainly do that....but......by the time you buy the engine and pay somepne to install it you are probably talking close to two thousand US. Then you have to hope that everything was done correct. If not, you are out more money. I would think a more practical solution would be to take that money and find a 3.0 liter X you like. That way you know what you have. When all is said and done you will probably spend about the same amount of money and save yourself a lot of hassle. I understand why you would want to do that, but in my opinion, there are more possible bad outcomes than good in doing that.

by SLR do you mean gullwing type doors on an X type? This I must see.....

Heck, it sounds like $ is no object, so why limit yourself to the 3.0?

I love my x-type so I am trying to reach a level that no x-type owner reached
I know that this is very difficult, especially since many of you did a very good job in modifying there cars

& about the 3.0 i'd realy like more HP the 2.5 is not bad but i know that i need more but i dont want to get a new car i even got the R Performance badge for my car i want my car to be unique
& yes i'm talkin about the gullwing type doors .

I like your spirit. Go for it! Some pics along the way would be cool to see.

Best of luck!

This is the same guy that torched his springs to ****...

Yeah, just walk away from the car and maybe hand me the keys.

If you search intensively, these swaps are quite common across the Mondeo/Contour/Cougar platforms. My only gripe would be modding the fuel rails. IIRC, the 3Ls have a different location. Then again, I haven't looked under a Jag for a year, and a 3L in almost 2 years.
