Default RE: Changing ATF

Wish I could have bought it brand new! That thing would still look new! By the time I got it it was beaten to death but kept going like a trooper. Actually to the day when I sold it it never blew smoke never had any type of smell or leaking oil or anything. The truck started up on the first try every time never had any knock or noise or anything. The air blew cold just like every ford and the heat is just like every ford! Hi Envvy,
just to confirm, you have recommended Mobil ATF 320 for jaguar x-type right? Been cracking my head on this for sometime now.

I wouldnt use anything but that. I've seen new valve bodies go in the dump due to incorrect fluid.

Fill Hole is towards the front of the tranny, just above the valve body. If you look down in between the battery and the air box,
you'll see a rubber cover for the fill hole. You'll have to remove the battery for easier access. If you still cant find it, I can provide a pic.

Depending on shipping, i can provide you with the fluid you need for around $40-$50

Correct fluid is Ravenol JF506e, it's specifically for this transmission.

The Mobil is a generic fluid, not specific for the Jatco506e transmission in the X Types. The approval required is Ford M2C922-A1
