Changing front struts video
I'm doing this job and everything went swimmingly until I tried to remove the hub carriers from the lower arms. They don't want to move down enough as the video shows at about 5:35. I tried a large crowbar and still no luck. Instructions in the Haynes manual say that the subframe must be lowered 30mm to avoid damaging the lower arm rear hydro-bush, which is not done in the video. Looking for advice.

Hat tip to Thermo for suggesting disconnecting the lower control arm from the subframe. I did that and out came the struts shortly thereafter. Up next is breaking down the struts and reassembly with new parts. I think I probably should get new strut top mounts though, as the old ones don't rotate freely. Grr...sorry for bad picture orientation - I cannot figure out how to fix that.
