My low beam bulb burned out on the passengers side of my X. While changing it I noticed a black hose beside the black cap against the fender. It had what looked like a white valve or connector on it. Any ideas what this is or is it just a breather hose for something?

The more I looked at it the more it looked like it belongs plugged in somewhere. Car has ran great for years now besides a baby stumble when first started and straight to driving as aposed to letting it warm up first.

I would venture to guess that your car has sprayers in the bumper to splash washer fluid on your headlights (visable by a square just below and between your headlights). That looks like what would be used to transfer the washer fluid to that area. If you were to wash your windshield 5 times, do you see a puddle of fluid form under the car in about that area. that would confirm this.
