Default Changing OSF Drive Shaft on AWD Car

I've done a search, but the only post I've found relates to just changing the outer shaft whereas all the new shafts I've seen come complete with the intermediate shaft as well, as do many of the second hand shafts.

There is a location clip on the inner end of the intermediate shaft and I understand that this tears an internal seal somewhere if the shaft is not removed in the correct fashion. Ditto for inserting the new shaft.

Please, how do I change the shaft without tearing the seal, and just where is this seal, is it between the gearbox/front diff and the transfer box.

All help and advise very gratefully received.

PS Just realised I have put this up on the American site. The shaft I'm talking about is the right hand front, passenger side in the USA

Alan
