Default Check Engine codes

2002 X-Type 2.5 Automatic

I have been getting a light in the dash cluster. It is a red circle with an exclamation '!' in the midle. this had happened three or four times in the recent past. The throttle was non-responsive, and the idle was high. I shut the car off for about one minute and started it up again and it was fine. this happened only when starting the car in the morning for the first time of the day.

Today, It happened twice. This time, the check engine light came on. I got the codes and they were:

P0121
TPS Pedal Position Sensor a CKT Range/Perf

P1111
Manufacturer Control fuel Air Metering

Please advise my problem/solution - Thanks

the dealer told me that I had to change out the entire throttle body. Is this true? I certainly hope not. Seriously folks, can someone help with this.

Iheard of this before...welcome to the world of owning an "exotic" auto...lol

What was the cost? 400?? Ask them to verify that in replacing this part, it will clear your codes....

Jag does not sell the TPS seperately. Your best bet is to get it from a junkyard.

The car has been running fine for the past few days. No check engine light, nor the (!) light. today, the (!) light came on and I had the same experience with the throttle. do I have a short, or maybe a problem other than the TPS?
