Smile Chrome headlights trim

I installed some chrome headlight trim on my X today. It was in the low 60F and first I cleaned the lenses with alcohol and used a heat gun to warm up the area so the tape would get a good grip on the lens. Here are some pics.

I really like it with your color. When I saw the title I was afraid that it was going to look tacky, but that actually makes it look pretty flippin' sweet! Kinda wish mine wasn't blacked out so I could do that

Thank you all for your very nice comments about my latest chrome. Got something else going on as long as the weather stays warmer. Will post in a couple of days.

Looks great. It gives some refinement around the headlamp.
Here's mine on a sport trim. I did changed up the grille as well.

I'll give you a couple of tips on install. on the back of each surround there is a arrow pointing up and the word up, also there is a left and right side surround even for the high beams. Make sure you have the arrow pointing up and left to left and right to right, which is not to hard to figure out if yours aren't marked. If you live in a cold climate heat up the lens and the tap before you press them on, they will stick much better. Also test fit them, it took 2 test fittings before I got them on the spot where all the tape was on the lens. When you mount them press all around the surround to make sure you have all the tape stuck in place. Oh almost forgot clean the lens well with alcohol, the area the surrounds are going to be stuck to.

It's funny how taste varies from one person to another. You're spending $$ chroming your X, and I'm spending $$ de-chroming every shiny part on my X (except the cat on my hood )

Smile To chrome or not to chrome, that is the question.

I was watching the UK version of Top Gear the other day, they went skiing with a X type. The Euro version has no chrome on it at all except for the leaper and the grille bars, otherwise nothing. The car was red and look nasty without chrome. I mean that in the modern good way.
