So how do you know if your climate control unit has the front windshield defroster? ?

 

If you have 2 buttons on your console for front defrost you have Electric heated screen, If you just have the one big front defrost button no electric screen.
also if you look very closely at your wind screen you will see very thin wires running down inside the screen if you have electric defrost.

 

All X Types with Climate Control have a DEF button that switches on the A/C if not on already and blows the optimum air at the screen to defrost it. Those cars with the optional extra heated windscreen glass have a button marked F between the DEF button and the rear screen heater switch marked R
