Clunking sound in front end
Hi. I have a 2004 x-type 2.5. When going over rough roads, there is a clunking sound in the front end that you can feel through the steering wheel and gas pedal. On smooth roads it is perfectly quiet. The steering is tight, and the handling seems normal. I put it on a vehicle and everything seems tight. The only thing that I found is a light clicking sound when pushing down on the right front end when it is on the ground. Any ideas? It is driving me crazy, and the dam thing sounds like it's going to fall apart. Thanks for your help!!

When changing struts, besure to check the condition of the top mount bearing. The ball bearings in mine were worn so they were replaced at the same time. It's no sweat to change them while strut are replaced.
I also replaced the anti-roll bar bushings. It was real pain to get that done - front subframe drop, use alternate bolt, very limited working space.., You can read more on my thread titled 'Ride improvement'.
