Default Clutch pedal height

Hi there, I am from the classic section mk2. Can any one help? The pedal on a 2.2Dsl is higher than the brake pedal. It can be pushed down a considerable distance ( taking up the free play)before any resistance is felt.
First question is this normal?.Can the pedal hgt be adjusted?

Hi Barry,

If you aretalking about an X Type it is a hydraulic clutch system. The clutch mastercylinder pumps fluid to the slave cylinder that is built into the throw outbearing. There is no adjusting of the clutch.

Now theclutch must have some sort of mechanic stop on its up (resting) position thatmay have some adjustment. If you would like I will measure how far off thefloor my pedal rests.
