Default Coil spring

I am looking to purchase a pair of coil springs, but I've noticed some are suitable for a "sport suspension" and some are not. Is there any way to find out which coil is suitable for my car? Mine is the 2002 3.0 Sport but I'm not entirely sure if it came with the sport suspension or not.

Thanks.

Fezz, if you got the Sport version, then it came with the sport suspension. It would be a rarity if it didn't. Worst case, you should be able to get under the car and look on the coil springs. There should be a sticker on one of the springs that you can then type into a Jaguar parts listing (try "Jaguar Parts" - Jaguar parts and accessories catalog) and that will give you a lot of the info that you are in search of.

The difference between the Sport and non-sport suspensions was a slightly shorter shock in the Sport version and the springs were 1.4" shorter. The rest was trim decoration and interior options.

So if I were to buy sport shocks/struts and sport springs (or lowering springs...whichever would be cheaper) I would have a "sport" suspension, in theory?

chiefshb, to the best of my knowledge, yes. There may be a slightly different sway bar. But, I don't recall there being something special about that. The rest of the "sport" upgrades were all visual (no chrome around the windows, no chrome on the corners of the car, special interior colors/wood, etc) But, you would have a sport as it relates to performance.

Just curious...why are you looking to replace the springs?

The spring is damaged due to a massive pothole. The bottom of the spring is rubbing on the assembly. Therefore, when I make a sharp turn it makes a grinding sound due to the stress put on it. Been looking and I still cant find anything. Jaguarparts.com seems to have been shut down. Phone line and all isnt responding.
