Default Cool mod

Has anyone seen these jaguar projector emblem lamps?
They attach to the underside of the door and when the door is open it projects the jaguar logo on the ground below.. Comes as standard on new jags i think.
There are several styles, just check ebay for " jaguar projector lamp"

I have a set to put on. It's getting warm out so maybe soon. My doors have reflectors and not lights so will have to work that out.

I saw where someone had a great idea for those of us with reflectors only in the door card. Tap into the light that illuminates your interior footwell on each side. You could tap into that wiring that powers the lamp which comes on when the door opens. Now have to figure how to run that wiring from footwell through the door wire loom to inside door panel.

Yes that is how I was thinking of powering them, from the foot well light. That would require removing the door panels and snaking a new wire in the door flex wire loom.

Now looking at the "puddle lights" maybe that would be a better place to mount them, under the car. Before I pull the doors apart I will hook one to a small battery to see if they will work under the car. Wiring would be much EZer.

Did mine last year, did not remove the door card, just tucked the wire under it up to the hinge height, made a loop and then tucked it under the door seal into the footwell lights, fitted two red LEDs while I was at it!!
