Default Cooling fan blade cracked...easy fix?

Yet another Christmas surprise from the X type....

I noticed a awful ticking noise coming from the fan at high speeds. After some investigation, I found that one of the blades, the one on the passanger side, has a crack on the circular part of the blade.....how is this fixed? Any temporary fix I can do? What does it take to get the shroud out?

Thanks!!

Default fan blades

Hey Spike. I have one off and hanging up. 30 plus shipping and I will ship out to you. To take it off . Take off the air box, then unbolt the 8 bolts that hold the radiator support... Do not remove just loosen. That will give enough play to unhook the fan from the radiator. Fan shroud.

Spike, you can try using something like 2 part epoxy to fix it. The big things will be making sure none of the blade is missing and that you use the minimal amount of epoxy possible. You do not want to change the weight of the blade too much as you can toss the fan out of balance and then you will have lots of noise and will trash the fan in a heartbeat.

Just to be clear on this you HAVE to remove the fan assembly, shroud and all from under the car to replace a motor or fan assembly.
