Replacing rear door speaker 2004 x-type
Hey all,
I've seen threads on front door speaker replacement and was hoping there is one for the rear door. Right side specifically.
This winter was bad here, sub zero weather, and the speaker started crackling and then one day just stopped working. Not sure the cold had anything to do with it but all the same its dead.
I have no issues replacing it myself with a new speaker for the Alpine system but cant seem to find instructions on how to access the speaker in the door or remove the panel and reinstall it. rather than just 'go for it' i was hoping there were instructions or diagrams or something to give me a clear heads up on pitfalls and things toi look for and what i need to do to actually dimsantle the door to swap out the speaker.
Thanks in advance.
Joe

Two suggestions:
1. wait for warm weather to remove the door panel and use proper tools when you do to avoid breaking plastic tabs that hold the fasteners.
2. Before purchasing a replacement speaker, try repairing the woven copper wire jumper between the speaker and the solder terminal. It may look intact but fails electrically at the solder tab.
Good Luck.
