Default Cost of exporting to France

I am looking at re-registering by 2003 Jaguar X Type 3.0 V6 Sport in France. When I try and find out the costs of obtaining a Carte Grise (French Registration Document) all the websites are asking me for 'Fiscal Power" number and "C02" number. Does anybody know what these are for my model?

Or any idea of how much it will cost?

Thanks
Tim

The CO2 emission will be on your log book.
If you wait until you're over the ten years the cost of a Carte Grise will be greatly reduced.
Here's a thread on how to do it - and the insurer I use.

Don't use the paying websites - the job is a lot easier than people make out (but you will need some French)

I agree with Steve. Follow that link.

PS your X Type will be 15 CV AFAIK.

Just remember that a RHD car even if on French plates will be virtually unsellable at a future time.

Plan on long term ownership (read last stop the scrap yard).

Or return it to the UK and take another hit.

Tim, it depends on exactly where you are based.

Different areas charge different amounts per CV.

+ after 10 years, generally the amount is halved.

For your X Type.

To calculate, approximate cost Follow Carte de Grise
