Default Cruise control recall X Type.

I read that certain X Types with diesel engines (2006-2009) were being recalled for a 'fix' to the cruise control software (sometimes it won't come on and other times it won't switch off-even if you touch the brake; you have to turn off the ignition).

My dealer told me I should get a letter but then told me the recall has been postponed as the 'fix' itself didn't work.

I have had no problems with my CC and I am about to take my car on long trip (motorways) and as no problems have been reported by customers (only one employee of Jaguar with his car) is it safe to use it? And are all of the diesel cars in that age group affected?

Thanks,
