Default ACM 2.10 Upgrade

Has anyone tried to upgrade their ACM to the 2.10 firmware as done by the X350 folks and here?

Also, the link to the firmware file listed there is dead, so I found another listed under the main Dension Downloads (Latest firmware (D2B) - gw5d2b2101.zip - Gateway 500). Is this the same file?

I'm also trying to get the updated cable kit for my ACM to work with my iPhone 4. The only model number I can find off my ACM is C2P13741, which is not referenced at all on the Dension page and therefore can't find out which of the 2 cable kits I need to get.

Yes. What else do you want to know?

Same file.

I'm also trying to get the updated cable kit for my ACM to work with my iPhone 4. The only model number I can find off my ACM is C2P13741, which is not referenced at all on the Denso page and therefore can't find out which of the 2 cable kits I need to get.
That's something I can't help you with, seeing as I'm not an iPhone user. If you can find other products that connect to various iPhone versions and you can identify which iPhones share which cable interfaces, then maybe that will help you to determine what you need from Dension. The C2P13741 part number is probably a Jaguar part number, which is why Dension would have no listing for it, but I'm sure that it's just a repackaged Dension part.

See if you can call/write Dension's customer service about the cable.

Actually, that cable part number *IS* referenced on the Dension page, just with a space in the character string (C2P 13741 Revised Optical Cables). According to the Dension page, that cable that you already have is the latest one available. If it doesn't work with your iPhone 4, then I would contact Dension directly.

For what it's worth, the section of my ACM web page that talks about the "Firmware Upgrade to Better Support Apple iPhone and Ipod models" described the success story from another iPhone 4 user, so that should be the right cable for you.

Ok, I feel really dumb. I can't believe I didn't bother to check the space in the model number when I did an inline search Glad to hear I got the latest one, going down now to flash it to 2.10.

Ok I'm going to downgrade back to the 1.09 official firmware. I liked being able to charge and use my iPhone to control the music, but I lost all ability to select playlists via the headunit, which is more important to me.

Is that the bottom line issue for iPhone/iPod users: where do you want to control your music? Not being an iPhone user, it didn't make any difference to me. Computer geek that I am, I just ran to the latest firmware and didn't give it another thought. Besides, I added a Bluetooth interface that can control track selection on my phone from the dash-mounted interface.

With the old firmware, can you still use other music sources from your phone, like Pandora?

I'm going to guess that you also lost steering-wheel controls of your track selection when you upgraded too, huh?

It probably comes down to an individual choice.
