Default Cylinder 5 misfire I made it worse!

Hi,
2002 X Type sport 2.5. I have had a check engine light and codes P0305 and P1316. Yesterday I replaced cylinder 5 spark plug and injector. The coil is a known good unit. Upon start up the engine revs about 1800 rpm, the throttle is unresponsive and the dash message center is flashing "engine system failure" "gearbox failure " and "DSC failure" . I double checked my work . There are no fuel leaks. The connector to the throttle actuator on the throttle body is brittle and may be making a poor or no connection. I will check this today. Am I on the right track? Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ken

Was the idle speed good before you did the work? If so, then I would guess you are on the right track with what you are going to check. The work you did would not cause teh idle to go to 1800 RPMs I would think. You must have disturbed something else while working in there.

Hi,
The car ran great even though the check engine light was on.

Fixed ! Thanks to help on this forum and this post CLICK HERE .
The throttle actuator connection was so disintegrated that it fit upside down. When I checked and saw that I had the green wire on top i knew that was the problem. I switched the wires and the Jag now runs as normal.

Thanks everyone.
