Default Dash panel removal?

Hi

I have purchased another set of the wood effect dash panels as I want to paint them, I think the wood effect would look ok if there was other panels around the interior to match so I think just the dash looks out of place.

I can see how the facia around the clocks are removed, a simple pull will do it i think but its the panel in front of the passenger airbag I'm not sure about.

Can anyone give advice on how to remove this please, whether its just a pull off or battery disconect and airbag removal etc etc.

Many thanks

Here's carbon fibre.
Here's piano black.

I'm a huge fan of the idea of black leather interior with gloss black trim bits and a bit of chrome here and there. Add to that those late-model Sport Premium quilted seats and door inserts, and it reminds me of Bentleys.

That being said, I also quite like my interior. I think there's quite enough wood, now that I've added the steering wheel and replaced the plastic ashtray lid and gear surround with the wooden ones from an automatic model. I also have the wood trim on all 4 doors, it's just not visible here.

I too am looking to replace/cover my wood trim as I think it looks out of place with the rest being all black.

I recently had a chance to view a 2006 X-Type with the Premium package. It had all black trim with factory Carbon Fiber on the dash. Looked excellent.

I have been searching for a kit, but they all seem to come with every single trim piece in the interior...just looking for 4 pieces. Shifter surround, ash tray, air bag & upper dash.

I got some really nice quality carbon effect from M3, looks and feels almost like the real thing so going to cover them myself this weekend.

Yeah will do :-)

Should look like this - https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...n-fiber-46776/

Using the same 3m carbon as in the piccy

Default Hi guys I know this is an old thread but ...

Hi guys I know this is an old thread but has anyone tried fitting S type dash trims on an x type ?
specifically the trims behind the steering wheel an ld the above the glove box ? I found a real slick silver dash kit for a S type sport and was hoping to fit it to my x type and and applying wrap to the rest of the trims to match plus a little bonus In the form of an Adamesh chrome shift knob.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Tony
