One detail from a similar thread on the XK8/XKR section for further information. The date on the sticker is not necessarily the date the vehicle came off the Jaguar production line but the date it was accepted for type approval in the destination country.
An example of this is the Final Series XK8 'Victory Edition'. These were all completed and the factory closed in 2005 but new vehicles were (perfectly correctly) being sold in the US the following year as 2006 models with the later date on the door sticker.
Nothing wrong with this as they were brand new vehicles when sold. The only time it can cause an issue is when sourcing parts. The Model Year isn't isn't always as accurate as quoting the VIN.
