Hi everyone, as you may know, we're having a real Winter this year in the U.S., thus my question.

When I manually put my climate control on the defrost/floor mix (see pic), I feel almost no air blowing from the windshield/side window vents, but the floor air flow is ok.

All other positions including auto and "pure" defrost work fine.

Do other X-Type owners experience the same thing? Thanks.

 

Hi, there are a whole bunch of threads on this topic already, including some recent ones. They explain the likely source of your problem and the fix.
With a little time and a few tools you might be able to do a self-fix.

I've experienced the same problem. I found that by cycling it between floor and defrost it seemed to correct itself. I hope that it is not an indication that the attachment of the door to the motor is failing.

 

Let's hope! But in any case, I bought a full extended warranty with the car that should cover it. Thanks for your feedback.
