Diesel fuel pump in tank?

Diesel fuel pump in tank?
Hi all, My X-Type 2.0D cut out the other day and would not restart, the garage have informed me that it is the in tank fuel pump that has failed and it will be over £300 from main dealer so I have tried to locate a cheaper one from the likes of eBay etc but cannot find one anywhere, I then read a thread on another site and it said their is no in-tank pump on diesel X-Types so I am now very confused, can someone please confirm this to be true or not.
