Default Directional/Blinker chime or noise

Hello men!

I have been so caught up on expressing my distaste/disdain of the Jaguar XE that I forgot I have a pressing issue to take care of in my now even more beloved X type!!!

Does anybody know if there is a speaker in the steering wheel column? I get no sound from my flashers and find myself running all over town with the blinker on, and it sounds like the XK8's have a little speaker in the steering wheel for the "blinker noise" can anyone tell me before I take the steering column apart?

Thanks!!

Spike, the audible clicker is mounted inside the turn signal stalk. So, you will need to pull apart the steering column and find the box for the turn signal stalk. With this being said, you can probably find a new pizo electric piece to put in there to change the sound of the clicker should you so desire. It should be a simple 12 VDC signal for the clicker. Worst case, put a multimeter across the "speaker" and see what it reads. I am sure you could find some interesting sounds to put in its place.

Well that's great to know. For a moment there I thought the turn-signal noise was supposed to come from either the body processor module or the speakers themselves..... Basically I need to get a new turn-signal switch

Thanks!!

Well taking the signal stalk out of the steering column took me less than five minutes, however I was unable to take it apartto get to the speaker inside since all sorts of tiny parts would have come out flying in pieces.

I guess a new one is the only way to go

Spike, get the new stalk in there, then you can rip and shred as you see fit and if it doesn't go back together, then you are not out anything. This is how I do a lot of my projects and learn what I do.
