Default Door lock problem

Hey guys,

Long time Jag enthusiast, new York the fourms.

I have a 2002 xtype 3.0

There's an issue with the driver side door handle. It's not the typical issue I've seen posted and was looking for some advice.

When I remove the door panel the line that controls the lock is unseated, from a loop that I assume it's supposed to fit into. However, after trying different ways I cannot get it to stay. Is there a cover that's missing? Or a tick to it that I'm not getting? Thanks from any replies

Default Door handle latch

Door handle latch: Hi, I'm having the same problem with my drivers side door handle which mysteriously stopped working; I removed the door panel, but I didn't find any machanical issues, the cable was seated in the handle crater and the door worked fine until I tightened the screw in the face plate behind the handle after replacing the door panel. When I loosen the screw the door will open, I don't know what the screw has to do with the issue, but when I leave the screw slightly loose the door will operate. I'm still trying to solve that mystery.
If I find any other reasonable explanation I will reply.
