2009 Jaguar x type 2.2d.... Rear n/s door will not unlock.... When using the remote or the key and unlocking manually other 3 doors unlock and lock again fine but nothing on rear passenger door,,, the top tab on the handle does not click open when unlocking but you can move it manually but does nothing... I have had door card off and cable is attached and appears to have the correct resistance and springs back fine... any ideas???

 

I had the same problem with the front passenger door, you could see it unlock, but it would not open from outside. 2002 x-type, took wd-40 to the outside, maybe 1/4 can spray. and then opened it from indies and sprayed the clasp area real thick.....worked the lock several times, and the handle. and now it works from the outside.

 

Have coated it with deblock oil and will wait and see if that does anything... cannot hear or feel anything moving as you can with the other doors when you activate the locking or unlocking... Thanks for that ... will keep trying....

 

With door card loose or removed, it is the ROD not cable that acctuates the door. Read this link (although different door, they all work similar). Read the imbedded links as well.
