Default Door "open" light staying on

2002 X-Type. My door open light is staying on, can someone tell me where the "switches" are (pictures are always great) and if I should spray them with electronics cleaner? Is the light on a separate circuit, can I just pull a fuse, fuse number?
Thanks in advance,
Ken

Unfortunately not an uncommon problem. The micro-switch for door closed is a part of the door latch mechanism. You would have to pull out the entire mechanism for a visual. I have had this problem a couple of times and I normally open the door and spray the latch mechanism with a liberal dose of WD-40. Then open and close the door a few cycles and see if that will resolve the problem.
I don't care for silicon lubricants because they attract dirt even worse than WD-40 and the use of electrical cleaner will remove all lubrication and cause corrosion.
