Open passenger door open driver door
97 XK8, 60 K miles coupe . Battery went dead, I trickled charged it back to life and now have a new issue that probably killed the battery. When you start her up the red warning comes on and it flashes open passenger door ....... open drivers door, just keeps cycling. Doors are in fact closed and the car runs just fine. Pressing in what I think is the door switch makes no difference on either side.
Also
I also cannot close the passenger window using the drivers side switch designed for that purpose, new problem started with the other problem mentioned here. It would be reasonable to think the problems are related.
Just weird, any ideas out there?

You need a new battery! Have it load tested, prob will fail. These issues are classic bad battery issues. Sure can start the car and it runs but the voltage from the battery is prob so low that the many electronic parts on the car need a healthy voltage or they do what you are dealing with.

Agreed, and check and clean your posts and cable clamps. When I had my new battery installed at Les Schwab, I asked the guy, I was standing nearby but not close enough to see, to check the clamps offering my new post/clamp cleaning tool in hand, he shined his light down and said nope they are clean. About a week and a half later, my new battery died, and when I checked the clamps they were dirty and corroded. Cleaned, recharged, and good to go. Oh yeah, and all kinds of weird events prior to the battery completely losing charge, from the top beginning to lower on it's own when I put the key in the ignition, to windows forgetting their travel limit.

Much to my very pleasant surprise replacing the battery did correct the errors as suggested. Took battery to auto zone they tested it and pronounced it good. I them took it to PEP boys and they pronounced it good but needing a charge. Thought that was unusual as it had been on a charger for a week. So I told them to charge it and give me a call when done. Well they called 2 hours later and it would not take a full charge. So brought a nice new one installed it today and everythng is working Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
