DPF Question
09 2.2 diesel automatic.
I seem to have the DPF full warning nearly every two weeks now. I do local driving and at least a motorway run every week.
It clears on a run on the motorway.
Oil was changed in the middle of June.
Is the DPF on the way out and if so where would be best to source a new on.
I’ve seen them advertised on eBay £172 up to £300.
Any recommendations. Thanks.

Heed this admonition =
it is advised to have an oil service because the injectors will dump fuel into the oil to raise the temperature to help aid a successful DPF regeneration. The diesel contamination in the engine oil will cause lack of lubrication which can lead to other mechanical problems.

Thank you Dell.
I will purchase oil today and do a change.
Attached file was very informative and I have contacted that company by email.
Located in Ireland but I can travel to the UK if I decide to have removal done.
I think I may go for replacing the DPF firstly and treat it as it should as I’ve no idea of the driving history of the car.
I suspect it is coming near the end of its life and thus not fully regenerating.
I’m now looking for recommendations for a replacement DPF.
Thank you for your informative input.
I can do this work myself so labour is not a consideration.

My research shows the cost is awfully high (part only) to replace it. $1,300 - $3,000 USD!!
I read one member removing it and doing a "homemade flush" which he said worked for him, but.......???
Found one =

Thanks Dell. Yes I would prefer initially to remove the DPF and clean it out myself but as it’s our only car and having no local transport we can’t take it off the road for too long.
Wow prices there are high,
your link reveals a price of £542.58 for a silicon carbide one in the UK.
E bay have them from £171 up to £600 as well.
Cordierite one is £171 and there is a silicon carbide advertised for €360.
I could go with the cheaper one and fit it and clean the original out without rushing it? What do you think?
I can do all the labour so that’s not a problem.
I’ll search the forum for that chap that cleaned his own.
I have now changed the oil and filter even though the level hadn’t risen but best to be sure.
Thank you for your time.
