Hi there, sorry to hear
Cant' advise on the dpf location, but feel your pain...
What mileage and driving style do you have?
My guess would be light driving, mostly stop / start and around town??
If so this will be the cause of your issues, wring car for the job essentially....
The car won't be running long enough to get fully warmed up to temp and be able to burn off the sooty deposits resulting in the message you're seeing.
Does the car show any signs of this, as in restricted performance etc?
If not, you may have an out..
Some Millers fuel treatment into the tank or similar and an extended run on the motorway ( Italian tune up style )
Get it into say 3rd gear and run it at high revs in that gear continually for perhaps 15- 20 miles
This may help to burn off any sooty deposits and a few on / off cycles may clear the message.
Failing this it'll probably be a trip to the dealerThis method worked on my Aunt's Renault Laguna several months ago and she's altered her driving habits somewhat, the issue hasn't returned as yet
Good luck
