DSC Light Flashing
Hello Everyone
I have a 2003 Jaguar X-type. Recently I had some battery issues and needed to replace my battery which kept dying. I spoke with a Jaguar mechanic in the area and he said it was common for something to remain on in the vehicle causing the battery to drain over time and lead to my problem. This was over a month ago and I haven't had any problems since replacing the battery. Tonight I was outside near my car and I couldn't help but notice a red flash coming from inside the car that I never noticed before when the car was off and locked. When I peeked in the window I seen that the flash was coming from the DSC button on the shifting console. Now this has me worried that this may be the problem that I have been hoping to find that caused my old battery to drain. Does anyone know why this is occurring and do you feel this is my problem? Does anyone know how to make the light stop flashing when the car is off and locked? Thanks for any feedback and help!

Nate, are you sure it is the DSC button and not the security light next to the change holder? If it is the security light, it will flash when the car is locked. It is telling you that the car is being monitored. This is completely normal. My car has done this from day 1.
It is a red light just above my cup holder on the shifting column. It is the only light that flashes when the car is locked so it must be the security light you both mentioned. I'm just paranoid I guess about anything that remains on with the car ever since the battery issue, Thanks for the help guys!
