Dual electric fan function...Question
I have a 2002 XType and was curious if the dual cooling fans are suppose to work in conjunction with one another? Or do they function independently at certain temps? I just noticed the passenger fan not turning but the driver side is working properly?
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!!

Dawgpound, the easiest check is to start the engine and then put the A/C into manual mode and dial the temp to the lowest possible and set the fan to max. This will force both fans to run at max speed. Now, get out of the car and check to see if both fans are running. You should feel a very strong rush of air coming out the backside of the radiator. If you are getting just a gentle breeze or you see that one fan is not working, then you have an issue that needs to be dealt with.
If you have a fan that is not working, I would use a multimeter to see if the fan is getting 12 VDC. If it is, then your fan is bad. If it is getting something under 11.0 VDC, then your fan module is starting to go and you will be needing a fan module here shortly.
