Default Dumb Question

I've looked and looked, and still can't figure out what this cover is called, so here's my stupid question:

(2002 X-type) I'm missing a small cover, about 2 inches in diameter, directly below/between my two driver's side head lights. Anyone know what the cover is called, or what it's covering? And can I buy just the cover, or is it part of some larger part package that includes the sensor (or whatever) it's covering?

Thanks for any help, and again, sorry for the dumb question.

Do you have a similar cover between the passenger side headlights? If so, it sounds like it might be the headlamp washer cover:

You should be able to get a replacement cover from a dismantler or the dealership. It's pretty inexpensive from what I recall.

Guessing it will be the cover for the headlight washer jet if its in the top of the bumper (and there is another one on the opposite side)...we had to buy the complete washer jet to get it at our bodyshop the other month cost GBŁ31 or so if I remember. There are 2 different ones, one for each side
The cover comes primed and needs to be painted

Yeah that's exactly what it is, thanks for the info. What the hell is that? I've had my car for a couple years and i've never seen my headlights get a washing like that. I don't even know how to turn it on.

I see, thanks. How do I turn those on? Or is it possible I have the space for the washer jets but don't actually have them installed?

They come out every 6th press of the windscreen washers
If they werent installed you wouldnt have the bumper with the cutouts for them unless someone has subsequently fitted a wrong bumper since factory

I found a site selling just the cover and they wanted 68 dollars for it. What a rip-off.

Nevermind, that included the jet.
