Almost at 200k miles on the x, I want these tires.
But then consider some Hankock for $70 less each.
Then I consider what I could do under the car with $70 per wheel savings.
Could I tightwad shocks and control arms/bushings @ rear for $140?
Shocks and ?? for the front for $140?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO???? With a limited budget.
I can have dreamy tires and a squeaky ride for another 6 months or so.
Or settle for sale tires and a smoother ride with new parts underneath.
So hard to decide....What to do?

innzane, this is the crazy monkey's thought on this: buy the cheaper tires and invest the remainder in suspension stuff. The difference in ride is not going to be that dramatic and every time the car squeaks, you are going to ask yourself whether the more expensive tires were worth it. Besides, if you are only owning the car for another 6 months, get the cheaper tires and then pocket the difference to put towards the next vehicle.
The 6 months was the probable time it would take me to save $ for the suspension parts and install them, I am keeping the car till it is dead. Does that change your thoughts?
Thx for the input

innzane, nope. You are going to get more bang for the buck with the suspension upgrade than you will ever get from the tires. The only way I would say the tires are worth spending more money on is if there is a dramatic difference in the miles that the tires are going to last (say more than 20,000 miles difference).
You should also look at the safety side of things. Great tires with a poor suspension is not the safest way to go.
Good tires (for now) with a good suspension is the best way to go. I'm with Thermo....as always.
