Default ECU hold down screw

Hi Guys,

I need to unplug my ECU cable for some testing. The screw head needs a 5-star security bit. All of my bits are the standard 6 point security bits.

I have looked at parts stores and big box stores with no luck.

The small screwdriver trick did not work. Light chisel tapping did not work and small noses could not get a good bite.

Does anyone know the name of this bit, a place to buy one, or any other tricks to get it off?

Generally, I would weld a nut on it, but I do not think my ECU would like that too much.

Thanks Larry

G'day Larry,

Try googling pentalobe bits. Any decent tool store should have them.

Cheers,
Jeff.

The screw is called TAMPERPROOF TORX PLUS and it is a T30 size.

Jaguar issued these for placement in our the tool cabinet when the X400 was introduced. (we were sent two)
