Default electric seat problem.

Hi all.
My Dad has the 2009 X type 2.2D sports, Uk model.
The drivers side (Right) has suddenly stopped working, the up,down, back, forward and memory fuctions all gone. Also the fold back electric mirrors have also packed in all at the same time.

So far have checked all the fuses in listed in the book to do with the seat functions and mirrors, these are in glove box, none are blown. I cant see anything obvious to cause the problem either.

Can anyone please help.

Cheers Lee.

ganers, you need to make sure that 3 fuses are good. They would be:

Fuse F9 in the passenger footwell area
Fuse F16 in the passenger footwell area
Fuse F7 in the passenger footwell area

If those are all good, then odds are, you are looking at a failed seat module. The mirrors are controlled through the seat module. So, you loose any one of the 3 fuses or the seat module fails, then you have the situation that you are seeing.

Lee,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help section to X-Type section as it's model specific.

I hope it's a fuse but seat and powerfold mirrors going off together is usually a seat module issue.

Hi it's looking a wee bit more than the fuse since I've just found the rear drivers foot well is wet through. Does the x type have issues with leaks in this area ?
Cheers lee.

Ganers, take a look at the rear doors, specifically the seal at the bottom of the door. I bet if you open the door, you will find that it will drain some water out. I have found that the seal can move a little bit and it will cause water to collect inside the door and it can allow water to get into the car.
