Emission fault coming up on dash

Hi, I have a 55 plate x type 2.0 diesel, when reving or accelerating whilst driving there is a load ticking noise and occasionally when revs go past 2500 the emission warning light comes on and car loses power, any advice as to what it could be, cheers craig

Craig, have you tried the UK based Forum. There's limited experience of diesels on this site as they were not exported to N America!
