Engine bay green plug
Hello,
i have a 58 plate 2.0d se, whilst looking at the engine bay down to the right i have noticed a small green plug not connected but cant see where it goes, there is one just near it that is connected to the gearbox, any ideas would be great
thanks

I have the same plug on my 3.0 petrol with an automatic. My research showed it does not connect to anything. I think the wiring loom is setup for both the automatic transmission and the manual transmission. One plug for each type and then your left with an unused plug.
Jaguar uses the same loom regardless of configurations and just leaves plugs empty.

That is exactly what it is Dell/Fitzy. The dummy socket it slides into is on the back of the battery box. It is switched and is live when the ignition is on and could be used to power some accessory or other via a relay if a heavy current draw is involved.

Dandy, I've never looked for it on mine, but if it is indeed live at ignition ON position, I'm preparing to add some DRL light bars (when weather turns warm again) & that would be ideal to add them in.
The battery shipping isolator runs to a loom on the fender near the fuse box. The green plug is a loose connector below the water pump and sits about where the hose from the coolant tank tees down. The one on my car serves no purpose. My isolator plug is clipped to my battery box lug.
