Default Engine cover screws

Hi Folks-

When I got my cat it was missing 2 of the three screws for the engine cover. I tried to get them at my dealership but they said they only come with the whole cover. Does anyone know where I can buy just the screws?

Thanks
Adam

Hello Adam, The screws you are speaking of are called Dzus fasteners and are purpose made for this application as are their retaining clips. Either snoop around in the junkyards or put up an ad on the Parts Wanted forum. Good luck, Andy

Easy fix--- parts store, buy trim clips that slide on(get larger size) clip them over the original holes on the bracket-- find the proper thread philips large head screw and wala. Caution- cover the oil fill tube.because the screws aren't captive and they WIILL fall in there!

Default Engine Cover Screws

The Jaguar part L=18mm, Phillips head

The closest is a BMW part: Quick-release screw. 18,4MM. BMW 528xi (2002 - 2012) # 51717123801

51717134392 20mm Screw Plug
51717123801 18,4mm quick-release screw - This is I think the closest
51718216143, 51718218852 16mm. Belly Pan Fastening Screws

I tried ordering the 1/4 turn bolt from Jaguar, but they said it's a part of the engine cover. It's not sold seperately. That's why you don't see it drawn in the Jaguar engine cover diagram.

Oooh, right. Sorry, it's been a while since I've taken the cover off good point.
