Default Engine vibration

My 2004 X-Type is acting up when i accelerate as if i am running out of gas. My tank if full. I checked my oil and that's topped off too. I opened up the hood while it was running and vibrations occur while idling too at every 5-6 seconds at the most.

What can it be to make it do this?

dragana, I would say to try this: Do a long hard pull like you are trying to get up to highway speed right now. What I am hoping is going to happen is that it will throw an engine code which will help narrow down what the ECU is thinking is going on. I am thinking that what you are experiencing is a fuel pump that is starting to go. This can cause the fuel pressure to fluctuate, resulting in the engine bouncing around some. You can try connecting a fuel pressure gauge and with the engine off and the key in the RUN position, you should see around 50 psi of fuel pressure. With the engine running, it will be around 40 psi. If you have the engine running and it is getting down around 30 psi, then that would be a sign of a fuel pump starting to go. You may also notice that if you roll the key quickly from OFF to START that the engine will take a few rotations before it will catch where if you take the key from OFF to RUN, wait a second or two and then roll it to START, it will catch almost right away.

I will change the fuel filter tonight as i do not recall last time it was changed. I hope that does it and if not, all seems to point to the fuel pump. Thanks for your recommendation. A friend told me that it could be bad gas too?!?! Water in fuel could cause it to act this way too supposedly.
