Default Estate brake light

Hi,
New to the forum, so apologies if this is posted in the wrong section.

The plastic trim/spoiler piece at the top of the tailgate on my x-type estate is loose on the left side. Does anyone know how this plastic trim is fixed on and how to remove it?

I tried to unclip it, but didn't want to put too much force on in case I broke it!

Thanks in advance !

Hi Daz,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums. People are very friendly and helpful here. It's important to all if you would sign in and introduce yourself and give details about your car. Also include it in your Avatar. There are several engines, trannys and drive train setups on the X Type depending on the year. Members can help you faster and more effectively if you will do that first.

As for your spoiler issue, go to X Type page on this forum, look in Stickys and you will find tons of information on your car. Specifically, to answer your question, go to:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/xp...pManual.pdf.zi

and download that manual. Lots of information about the Estate model in this manual. Look on page 2433 for specific instructions and diagrams to remove and install the lift gate spoiler.

Thanks and good luck

That's great - cheers guys!
I feel a bit of a plonker to be honest - I assumed it clipped on from the outside - never thought of attacking it from the inside :-)

I will have a look at the weekend and hopefully see why one side is loose!

Cheers again,
Daz

Just testing my signature. By the way, anyone know why I can't drop down to the next line by hitting enter?

It works on mine also. You might try <ctl><enter>.

Have just tried it again today and it works - don't know why. Cheers all.
