Clear Maybe?
One of the retainer clips on my smoked side markers broke, and I went to Mina Galleries to order a new one, and they don't have the smoked variety any more, but now they have clear, and chrome wraps too (ick). Clear might look good on a silver car, but silver vynil wrap would look better. Just yakkin here...
Lucky for yours truly I found a smoked pair for my black cat on EvileBay.

Yeah, I just wrapped mine in 3M graphics vinyl. Go to your local FastSigns or equivalent and for about $10, they give you enough to do all four and then some. You need to remove the bulbs from the bumper lights. I temporarily (until the MTS ones arrived from Germany in week 1) covered the side markers behind the front wheels also with the bulbs in. The actually work like that and it just extends your side moulding to the front fender that way.
For what it's worth, heat up the vinyl a bit with a hair dryer prior to stretching on - then use a sewing needing or new razor blade precisely (fine punctures) to eliminate any bubbles. Good luck.
If you really want to get the respect of your peers - I would sand down the factory lettering. I have been meaning to do this, but cannot find the exact perfect color anymore.
