Default Finally an X-Type owner, got a few questions

So I finally bought the X-Type I've been wanting. It's a 2002 2.5 sport, with a manual transmission. There are a few things it needs on the interior, which is a gray color. Gonna keep my eyes peeled for some part outs on this site, but I remember looking before and couldn't find any gray interior parts. I'm also having problems with the rear drivers side window. It auto rolls down, but doesn't auto roll up. The rest do. Is this a common problem that can be fixed?

What are some of the common, cheaper mods that can be done? I've seen some paint the small lights on the side of the car to match the body color, do you just remove the bulb and paint the lens or are there plastic replacement pieces that can be painted to match? I've also seen someone mention removing the "egg yolk", what does this mean?

I'll get some pictures once I get it cleaned up

First, congrats on your purchase!! hope you like it as much as I and we like ours!

The window malfunction sounds to peculiar ... I haven't experienced this so I'm not really sure. It may possibly be an electrical problem or the window may be slipping off its track at the bottom.

The lights you can tint by either removing the bulb, or doing what I did and just tint over the reflectors. This is much easier and quick. You can always go back and change the set up later. Lastly, a mod and what I think is the removing of the yellow running lights, is the egg yolk look. Change out your yellow runners with LEDs. I recently have purchased two LED 194 super blues off eBay for 7 bucks with free shipping. Unfortunately, they are not installed because the car is in the shop for a new strut assembly and brakes. If you'd like, once the swap is done, I will post pics of it before and after.

Thanks man. The window thing must be electrical, because it rolls up just fine as long as I hold the switch. It just doesn't "one touch" roll up like the rest.

And the egg yolk thing will go soon. So they are 194s? What size are the HID headlight bulbs, D2S? And the fog light bulbs?

I also forgot to mention that the door that covers the ash tray doesn't stay closed, is there a common fix for this? And the boot for the e-brake handle isn't secured to the console. I will try to get some pictures of this tomorrow, I can't tell if it's broken or if it just needs to be put back on correctly

Hey triumph_013, and congrats on the X- Type! As for the window not auto-rolling up, no need to fear, someone just accidentally disabled it. To re-enable this feature just hold the "up" position using the drivers switch for around 5 seconds and that should be it. I've done this before because the auto roll-up feature gets disabled when you disconnect the battery.
